River Garry March 7th 1896

I am at present reading an old book,’The Rod & Gun’, dated 1896 which has many reports of fish catches, one I noticed was the River Garry.

‘The river is well stocked with fish and splendid rod fishing is confidently expected. During a fortnight’s stay at Invergarry, the Duke of Portland and Mr.Lindsay have enjoyed excellant sport, their take being sixty six fish of good average weight of 16.5 lbs. Mr.Pilkington has also done well’.

It would be good if we could get The Garry, back to this standard, just dreaming.
